Secretory activity of boar efferent duct cells in vitro
Anatomy Histology Embryology 27:95-103

Primary cell culture of boar efferent duct cells was established. After 24 h in culture, a metabolic labeling was carried out using 35S-Methionine. Culture medium and cells were collected after 5 and 27 h, respectively, and 9% SDS-PAGE run for autoradiography. The occurrence of labeled protein in the medium was time-dependent and the patterns of labeled proteins from media and cell extracts were significantly different. Evidence of secretory activity of boar efferent duct cells in vitro suggests that the efferent ducts modify the luminal fluid by both absorption and secretion.
